Shake one gently and you may hear it: an enhydro agate holds water that was sealed inside while the agate formed. Some have a small moving bubble, many hold a lot of water, and some are close to half full.
The easiest way to see the water is to hold the agate up to a flashlight. Darker agates can hide it, so listening can be the better test. It is a fun piece for curious kids and adults alike, and a genuine conversation starter on a desk or display shelf.
