For a mineral lover, a cluster where apophyllite and stilbite grew side by side is a small piece of geology to keep close.

This piece is light and compact, so it is easy to move between a desk, a bedside table and a display shelf. Green apophyllite crystals sit with stilbite between them. It is the kind of specimen that rewards a closer look, with crisp crystal faces that reflect light differently as you turn it. Choose it as a gift for a rockhound or as the start of a zeolite collection.

About Apophyllite and Stilbite

Apophyllite is a group of phyllosilicate minerals that forms prismatic, glassy crystals in colorless, white and green. It is often listed with the zeolites but is classed separately. Stilbite is a true zeolite that tends to grow in sheaf or bow tie shaped bundles of thin crystals. The two are found together in cavities in basalt, and the Deccan Traps of India are known for pale green apophyllite with stilbite.

Stone Meaning: Green apophyllite is traditionally associated with clarity and renewal.
