About Apophyllite and Stilbite

Apophyllite is a sheet silicate known for glassy, pyramid tipped crystals, and it often grows alongside stilbite, a true zeolite that forms sheaf or bow tie shaped bundles of thin crystals. Both develop in gas pockets inside basalt. The Deccan Traps of India are famous for this pairing, with pale green apophyllite and salmon pink stilbite found together near Mumbai and Pune.
