About Vanadinite

Vanadinite rates only 3 to 4 on the Mohs scale, so small specimens are best kept in a box rather than loose with harder stones. Its short hexagonal prisms come in bright red, orange red, brown or yellow, and notable localities include Morocco, Namibia, Arizona and New Mexico.
