Some agate hands are all polish; this one keeps a little of the rough geode inside it.

Near the bottom of the hand sits a druzy opening packed with small crystals and some calcite, a natural pocket the carver left in place. The rest of the stone is gray agate with fine lines running through it, polished to a smooth shine. That contrast between glossy agate and sparkling crystal is what sets this hand apart. It sits well on an acrylic easel at a desk or altar, and makes a meaningful gift for a mineral fan who also loves symbols.

About the Hamsa and Agate

The hamsa is a palm shaped amulet traditionally used against the evil eye, found across North Africa and the Middle East in Jewish, Christian and Muslim communities. It is also called the Hand of Fatima or Hand of Miriam. Agate is a translucent, banded form of microcrystalline quartz, durable enough to take and keep a bright polish.

Stone Meaning: Agate is traditionally associated with balance and stability.
