Lepidolite Platter, Purple Pink Slab - One of a Kind, 10.75 In

Polished on top and left raw around the edges, this lepidolite platter shows two sides of the stone at once. The face has the soft purple pink shimmer lepidolite is known for, and the rough rim keeps it looking natural.

It is a substantial slab, broad enough to hold a candle grouping, a few small crystals or a stack of books on a coffee table. Each platter is hand cut and polished, and the markings and inclusions in this one are its own, so no other slab looks quite like it. Lay it on a console, a dresser or a side table where the mica flakes can catch light from a window. It suits anyone drawn to purple stones who wants something useful rather than another figurine.

About Lepidolite

Lepidolite is a lithium bearing mica, the most abundant lithium mineral on Earth. Its lilac to pink purple color comes from trace manganese. Like other micas it is soft, about 2.5 to 3 on the Mohs scale, and its fine mica flakes give polished lepidolite a satiny shimmer.

Stone Meaning: Lepidolite is traditionally associated with calm and transition.

Good to Know

• Lepidolite is a flaky mica, so lift the platter to move it rather than sliding it across a hard surface.
• Felt pads under the raw base help protect wood furniture.
