Never held grape agate? A compact piece is a good way to start.
This one is nearly as wide as it is long, so the bubbly purple spheres are packed close together into a rounded, chunky shape that sits well in the palm or on a small stand. The color is usually purple and can carry flecks of blue, white, green or gray. It fits on a nightstand, a windowsill or inside a curio cabinet, and makes a thoughtful gift for a mineral lover who likes texture as much as color.
About Grape Agate
Grape agate takes its name from its botryoidal habit, a word from the Greek botrys, bunch of grapes. Mineralogically it is chalcedony colored purple by trace iron, and it lacks the banding of true agate. It comes from the Batu Manakarra mining district of Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Stone Meaning: Grape agate is traditionally associated with calm and confidence.
