Lodolite Enhydro Quartz Crystal on Wooden Stand - One of a Kind, 6.6 In

Water sealed inside quartz is what sets this crystal apart: a lodolite enhydro with trapped fluid you can find in the close up photo, where it is circled in red.

Small bubbles run through the crystal as well, so the interior keeps rewarding a second look. The wooden stand holds it upright and lifts it into view on a cabinet shelf, a meditation table or a mineral display. Enhydro quartz is a natural record of the fluid the crystal grew from, which makes this a piece for the collector who wants something with a story inside, not only a pretty surface. The water was trapped naturally as the crystal grew.

About Enhydro Quartz

Enhydro comes from the Greek for water within. In the trade, enhydro quartz means transparent quartz holding fluid inclusions, natural water based fluid sealed inside while the crystal grew. As the crystal and fluid cooled, the fluid shrank faster than the quartz, leaving a gas bubble behind. Lodolite, also called garden or scenic quartz, is clear quartz with mineral inclusions such as chlorite that suggest landscapes, and Minas Gerais, Brazil is its main source.

Stone Meaning: Lodolite is traditionally associated with insight and reflection.

Good to Know

• Tilt the crystal slowly under a lamp or flashlight to spot the inclusion; in many enhydros the gas bubble moves as the stone turns.
• Many fluid inclusions are large enough to see without magnification, though a 10x loupe shows the small bubbles more clearly.

Additional Details

• You receive the exact lodolite enhydro crystal shown, with its wooden stand.
• About 6.6" x 4" x 2" with stand.
• Natural fluid inclusions; the fluid is sealed inside the quartz.
• Keep away from extreme heat or sudden temperature changes, which can affect fluid inclusions.
