Raw blue kyanite, standing tall on a metal stand, makes the kind of floor piece people walk across a room to see.
The surface is rough and natural, so every bladed crystal and ridge is left exactly as it formed, and one photo shows it beside a person to give a true sense of scale. It reads as sculpture in an entry hall, a lobby, a design studio or beside a fireplace, and it is a commanding centerpiece for a serious mineral collection.
About Blue Kyanite
Kyanite is an aluminum silicate that grows as long, bladed crystals in metamorphic rocks such as mica schist and gneiss, formed under high pressure. Its name comes from the Ancient Greek kyanos, dark blue, the same root as the color cyan. Kyanite's hardness changes with direction, softer along the length of a blade than across it.
Stone Meaning: Blue kyanite is traditionally associated with communication and alignment.
Additional Details
- You receive the exact kyanite specimen shown, on its metal stand.
- About 33" tall x 12" wide x 9" thick; about 50 kg.
- Raw, natural blue kyanite.
- Kyanite blades can split along their length; keep it out of high traffic paths and dust with a soft brush.
- Very heavy; move it with two or more people, lifting from the stand base, not by the crystal edges.
