About Druzy Agate

Most agate starts as a gas bubble in cooling lava that slowly fills with silica rich water. If the silica runs out before the bubble is full, the leftover hollow is lined with small quartz crystals, and that sparkly lining is what druzy means. Brazil's southern state of Rio Grande do Sul is a major source of agate.
