About Geodes and Druzy

A geode begins as a hollow pocket in rock that slowly fills with mineral as groundwater seeps through, and its lining is usually agate, chalcedony or quartz. Druzy is the coating of tiny crystals on that lining; each crystal face reflects light separately, which creates the sugary sparkle. Many commercial geodes come from Brazil, Uruguay, Namibia and Mexico.
