This set brings together ten agate slices with ten different patterns, from crystal centers ringed by chalcedony bands to horizontal banding across the middle.

Unlike a matched set, this group gives you variety, so you can compare patterns, rotate them through a display or split them up as gifts. They range in color from gray and brown to white, cream and translucent, each polished to a bright shine, and at about 6.4 to 7.5 inches they are large enough to use as coasters, plant and candle bases or a window display where light passes through. About Agate Slices

Agate is a translucent, banded form of microcrystalline quartz. Its bands form as silica is deposited layer by layer inside a rock cavity by groundwater of changing composition, and some cavities end up as geodes with a crystal center. Slicing the nodule thin and polishing both faces shows the full pattern, and because agate is hard quartz, the polish holds up well.
