An open palm with an eye carved at its center gives this hamsa pendant its classic look, and polished hematite adds a smooth, metallic gray shine.

Wear it on a cord or chain, hang it from a key ring or bag, or give it to a friend, family member or new homeowner as a traditional token of good wishes. The flat, thin shape lies comfortably against the chest.

Each pendant measures about 2 by 1.5 inches, is about 0.1 inch thick and weighs about 20 grams. Size and shine may vary slightly between pieces. A chain or cord is not included.

About the Hamsa

The hamsa is a palm shaped amulet traditionally used against the evil eye across North Africa and the Middle East, in Jewish, Christian and Muslim communities. It is also called the Hand of Fatima or Hand of Miriam, and many versions show an eye in the palm.

Symbolism: The hamsa is traditionally associated with protection and good fortune.
