Swirling lavender and purple charoite is cut into large flat slabs and polished all around in this strand of about 9 beads. The beads measure about 22 by 37 millimeters to 38 by 47 millimeters and 6 to 8 millimeters thick.

Each strand is about 15 inches long and holds about 9 beads, though some have more or fewer. Their flat faces let them lie smoothly in a necklace. Use them for a bold statement necklace, split them into pendants, or mix them with smaller beads.

About Charoite

Charoite is known only from one place, near the Chara River in Siberia, Russia. It has a swirling, fibrous lavender to purple pattern with a pearly luster.
