A real ammonite fossil is cut into a heart, showing the pattern of the ancient shell, and finished with a silver tone bail. It measures about 40 to 51 millimeters by 34 to 40 millimeters, including the bail.

Wear it on a chain or cord, or give it as a meaningful gift for Valentine's Day, an anniversary or a fossil lover. Colors range from brown and black to tan. If you prefer a certain size, leave a note and the team will try to match it.

Ammonites were marine animals that died out about 66 million years ago, so each heart carries a piece of deep history. Each pendant shows its own pattern. Keep it away from harsh cleaners and store it separately to prevent scratches.

About Ammonites

Ammonites were coiled-shell marine cephalopods, more closely related to octopus and squid than to the nautilus. Their shells were divided into chambers by walls with intricate suture patterns, and they died out at or shortly after the end-Cretaceous extinction about 66 million years ago.
