Cut an amethyst stalactite crosswise and it opens into a pattern that recalls a flower or a living cell. These larger slices show amethyst crystals ringing a stone center, each in its own pattern.
They are big enough to display on a small stand, use as a focal piece in a crystal grid or set into a resin or jewelry project. Artists, jewelry makers and collectors all find something to love here, and a slice makes an easy, meaningful gift for anyone who loves purple.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Slices are about 2.5 to 3.5 inches long, 1.75 to 2.5 inches wide and 0.25 to 0.5 inches thick, weighing about 30 to 110 grams. Options 274 and 275 are the largest and thickest.
About Amethyst Stalactites
Amethyst stalactites form inside geodes in volcanic basalt and are well known from mines near Artigas, Uruguay. When sliced, they show bands of chalcedony and amethyst around the core, often in a star or flower pattern.
Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
