Green Apophyllite and Stilbite Zeolite Cluster - One of a Kind, 5 In Long

Long and low, this apophyllite and stilbite cluster stretches out rather than up.

That shape is useful: it lies flat along the front of a shelf, in a shadow box or across a windowsill, where the light can run the length of the crystals. The green apophyllite forms glassy blocky crystals and the stilbite grows alongside them, and you can see the contrast in the front and side photos. It suits a mineral collector filling a gap in a zeolite drawer, or someone who wants a natural cluster that will not tip over.

About Apophyllite and Stilbite

Apophyllite is a group of phyllosilicate minerals that forms prismatic, glassy crystals in colorless, white and green. It is often listed with the zeolites but is classed separately. Stilbite is a true zeolite that tends to grow in sheaf or bow tie shaped bundles of thin crystals. The two are found together in cavities in basalt, and the Deccan Traps of India are known for pale green apophyllite with stilbite.

Stone Meaning: Green apophyllite is traditionally associated with clarity and renewal.
