Tourmalinated Quartz Sphere - One of a Kind, As Is, 4.125 Inch

Love the look of tourmalinated quartz but happy to overlook a flaw? This polished sphere is sold as is because it has cracks through the middle.

The cracks are visible in the photos, so you know exactly what you are getting before it arrives. At about 4 inches across, it is a substantial piece for a desk, a bookshelf or an altar. It is a good choice if you want a large tourmalinated quartz sphere and do not mind a visible flaw. This is the exact sphere shown.

The sphere is about 4.125 by 4.125 by 4.125 inches. Look through every photo, including the close ups, to see the cracks and the tourmaline before you decide. If a visible flaw does not bother you, it is a good way into a large sphere.

About Tourmalinated Quartz

Tourmalinated quartz is quartz that grew around needles and rods of black tourmaline, the variety called schorl. It is a close cousin of rutilated quartz, which holds golden rutile needles instead, and the inclusions are what make every piece different. Both minerals are hard, and quartz takes a bright glassy polish.

Stone Meaning: Black tourmaline in quartz is traditionally associated with grounding and clarity.

Add a Sphere Stand

A stand keeps a sphere from rolling and lifts it into view, so it looks finished on a shelf, desk or altar. Pick one from our crystal sphere stands and holders, with carved wood, brass, metal and clear acrylic styles. Check the stand size against the sphere diameter for a secure fit.
