About Druzy Agate

Each band in agate marks a layer of silica left by groundwater of changing composition inside a rock cavity. If the cavity does not fill completely, fine crystals coat the remaining space as druzy. In Brazil's Salto do Jacui district, agate geodes form inside vesicular basalt.
