About Druzy Agate
Druzy agate starts as agate, banded microcrystalline quartz laid down in layers inside a rock cavity. Where the cavity stayed open, a final coating of tiny crystals formed, and that coating is the druzy. Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil is one of the best known sources of agate geodes, which form in vesicular basalt.
