Black Tourmaline in Quartz Crystal Ball - One of a Kind, 6 Inch

Quartz that grew around black tourmaline makes a crystal ball with real drama. This gigantic one measures about 6 inches in every direction.

Set it where light can reach it from the side, and the tourmaline needles stand out crisply against the quartz. It makes a bold statement in an entryway, a living room, a gallery wall nook or an executive office. For a collector, it is a cornerstone piece; for a gift, it is the kind of crystal people remember. This is the exact sphere shown.

The sphere is about 6 by 6 by 6 inches. Look through every photo, including the hand and measurement shots, to get a feel for its scale. A sphere this large is easiest to enjoy at eye level, on a shelf or a tall stand.

About Tourmalinated Quartz

Tourmalinated quartz is quartz that grew around needles and rods of black tourmaline, the variety called schorl. It is a close cousin of rutilated quartz, which holds golden rutile needles instead, and the inclusions are what make every piece different. Both minerals are hard, and quartz takes a bright glassy polish.

Stone Meaning: Black tourmaline in quartz is traditionally associated with grounding and clarity.

Add a Sphere Stand

A sphere this size deserves a sturdy base that keeps it steady and shows it off. Browse our crystal sphere stands and holders and choose a metal or brass style sized for its diameter, or a carved wood stand for a warmer look.
