About Agate Geodes

A geode is a hollow, roughly round rock lined with crystals or mineral bands. In agate geodes, bands of microcrystalline quartz build up around a center of druzy crystals. Because agate is porous, it takes dye well, and most vividly colored agate in the trade is dyed.
